APIC VIRGINIA
Our Vision

It is the vision of APIC-VA to be the leader, key
resource and advocate  in the field of infection
prevention and control and applied epidemiology
for all health settings.
Our Mission
The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and
Epidemiology, Inc., Virginia Chapter (APIC-VA) is a
multi-disciplinary voluntary organization. Our purpose is to
influence, support and improve the quality of health care through
the practice and management of infection control and the
application of epidemiology in all health settings. APIC-VA is
committed to improve patient care, prevent adverse outcomes
and to minimize occupational hazard associated with the delivery
of health care.

The APIC Virginia Chapter 012 (APIC-VA) serves the Commonwealth of Virginia. This territory extends 42,000 square miles to include Winchester of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Jonesville at the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains, east to Virginia Beach, and north to border Washington DC. Our chapter serves a variety of urban, rural, industrial, and military communities.

APIC-VA members include nurses, physicians, technologists, public health administrators, military personnel, and others involved in infection control and epidemiology. Practice settings of our members vary and include acute care hospitals, sub-acute and rehabilitation facilities, long term care, home care, surgical centers, mental health, correctional facilities, industry, and public administration.

APIC-VA is a multi-disciplinary voluntary organization committed to mentorship of our members, support of best practices, and ultimately, improvement of the quality of health care throughout the continuum of our varied practices.
